Opened in 2017 by Dr Nomcebo Mthembu, Medilution is a lifestyle and wellness clinic with branches in Botha's Hill and Richards Bay, taking a holistic approach that combines Western and traditional medical knowledge.
We champion prevention care while providing the best treatment possible, using Western and alternative treatment through African knowledge systems.
Everything we do is guided by six core values.
Our team is committed to providing the best service possible by paying attention to each person's specific needs. New and returning patients are treated with the utmost respect, care and confidentiality. We care for people from all walks of life, which asks us to be flexible and well informed.
We keep up to date with modern health information and innovation to meet the needs of our patients. We never limit ourselves to what we already know, and follow the latest findings in both medicine and alternative medicine. As an integrated lifestyle and wellness clinic, we look at health from every angle.
We are driven by the will to give our patients the best service and products, and by the will to build strong individuals, families and communities, and a healthy nation.
We hold the highest standard of integrity in all that we do, caring for every patient from the moment they walk in, through their treatment, and even after they have left.
Regardless of gender, race, age or background, no patient is less important than another. Every patient, new or returning, is treated with respect.
We work like an engine. Each of us has a role we specialise in, but that never stops us stepping in wherever a hand is needed. We know that if we did not, we would risk being average, and average is not in our description.

Dr Nomcebo Mthembu is a dynamic and multi-talented woman who began her career in accounting before studying medicine. After years as a doctor in both public and private healthcare, she opened Medilution in 2017 to combine Western and traditional medical knowledge in a holistic approach to healing, including lifestyle and business coaching.
Throughout her career, Dr Mthembu has used her spare time to champion the cause of the vulnerable, especially women and children.
A youth empowerment organisation she founded, developing young people through arts and culture, moral regeneration, the appreciation of cultural diversity, social cohesion and pride in their heritage. Its modules draw on Indigenous Knowledge Systems to help young people deal with the social challenges they face, and to support their peers.
She has volunteered as a teacher in Soweto, and as a tape reader for blind BA students at Wits University.
She has received numerous awards and speaks at seminars and forums on medicine, youth development, traditional leadership, women's empowerment, behaviour and culture. She has been involved in research into herbal medicine, and has initiated a research institute on African Heritage, Medicine and Genealogy.
She educates the public on health, family and lifestyle every week on Ukhozi FM, on Tuesday mornings and Thursday nights.
Most people arrive with a problem rather than a treatment in mind, so send us a message or phone either branch, and we will tell you what is suitable, what it involves and what it costs.
